Picnic in the Park

Each summer, FISH provides free meals for children and teens across Kittitas County. Families can choose between Grab & Go meal boxes or on-site Congregate meals at convenient locations, including expanded access in rural areas.

Program Season

Operates June through August each year

Program has ended for 2025 but will return in June 2026

Grab & Go Meal Boxes

Each box includes 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches per child
Pre-registration available to guarantee a box
Walk-up boxes distributed first come, first served
Rural distribution sites included

Congregate Meals (On-Site Dining)

Children enjoy a fresh, healthy lunch served at parks, libraries, and community sites
No paperwork or preregistration required — just show up!
Offered Monday–Friday at multiple Ellensburg and Upper County locations

These free meals ensure that kids and teens in Kittitas County have access to nutritious food when school is out. Whether at the park, the library, or at home with a meal box, families can count on healthy, reliable options each summer.
