Volunteer at FISH and discover the joy of serving…

Please consider becoming a volunteer at FISH Community Food Bank!  Shifts range from 2 to 5 hours.  We are happy to help you find a good fit with your schedule!  We do accommodate community service and volunteer hours for school as well.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Warehouse – Sorting and stocking food, organizing inventory, cleaning the warehouse and food pantry, receiving donations
  • Grocery Guides – Assist our guests with accessing our Food Pantry
  • Open Table – Preparing, serving and cleaning up after one of our lunches (Monday, Wednesday)
  • Front Desk – Helping clients with questions and helping them access our’s or other’s resources, running grocery distribution
  • Office Work – Such as filing, organizing supplies, addressing envelopes, data entry, etc.
  • Hosting – Helping welcome our guests, making coffee, keeping the front of the house and bathrooms clean as needed

Please note: a child must be five years old to volunteer with their parent.  A child must be 14 years old before they can volunteer on their own.

 

P.S.  If you are over 55, you can also sign up with RSVP – your hours here at FISH will count there as well!

Also, if you are a CWU student, the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement would like you to sign up with them too!

  1. Greetings. I just moved to Ellensburg from Seattle and have a good background volunteering with the homeless and food banks. I was also a caterer and would love to volunteer

    I am a freshman at Ellensburg High School and in order to finish out the year we need 10 hours of total community service.
    I would like to volunteer at your facility doing whatever jobs need to be done. I’m a good and respectful kid, and I am willing to work and would like to make a positive effort to help out the community.

    Its about that time to sign up for shelter times. I served last year in the cold weather shelters. Id like to be put down for a contact for Volunteer times for. The 2018-2019 Season please when that list becomes available cold I be contacted via email ♡

  4. Hi Elsie, Just a quick note to let you know how great the lunch program was at Mt Stuart this past summer. I worked with the kids during Literacy Summer Camp and had the privilege to be with them during this time of fellowship as they ate. The lunches were healthy and liked by most of the children. Your volunteers where kind and always came with a smile and a servants heart. Thank you all for a job well done.
