The Pantry

The Pantry at FISH

FISH’s Food Pantry is one of several throughout the county, all operating with the help of FISH Food Bank.  Here at FISH we have a variety of foods, from canned goods, to bread, to fresh produce, available for our clients.  Grocery Guides will walk you through the pantry and help you choose what you need.  Then our warehouse volunteers will load all groceries into your vehicle!

You may visit only one pantry in each month.  You must fill out an initial intake form for your household and one adult must have an ID at each visit.  Your ID must be for Kittitas County or you must have proof of residence, such as a bill at your current address.  Grocery visits are allowed twice per month per household at the FISH pantry.

As we only have a limited stock of groceries, we are unable to accommodate special diets.  You are welcome to make your choices around what you cannot eat, but please be aware that reading labels can slow down the line for everyone.

The sign-up sheet for the Food Pantry is available 30 minutes before distribution starts.  You must be present and inside when your name is called or you will need to sign up again at the bottom of the list.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

  1. Do you have volunteer opportunities for children? My son is 10 and we are looking for a one day a week opportunity for him after school.

    1. I’m sorry Danielle. We ask that our volunteers be 14 or older. Consider having him help at the county museum or the fairgrounds. Good luck!

  2. Do you have to have an Ellensburg address to get food from FISH? I go to CWU but I’m having financial difficulties and can’t afford to buy groceries.

    1. Susie, college students are always welcome at FISH! Come down and tell them you are a new client and a college student and the front desk will get you set up. Thursday our distribution hours are 2-4, Friday 9:30 – 11.

  3. Good News Danielle. We’ve changed our policy and now take children 5 and up. They need to be able to focus on what they’re doing and stick by their parent. If you’d still like your son to come down, please attend a volunteer intake on Wednesdays at 3:30 or Fridays at 12:30. Hope we see you there!

  4. Would it be possible for you to post your actual food bank hours on this site, somewhere that is easy to find? Calling the provided office # doesn’t help.

    1. I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble getting the information that you need. Did you call the office during business hours? If I know when you called, I can refresh my volunteer on what they need to know.

As for the website, the information is under “Times and Hours” in the About Us menu. I am looking to do some revising over the next several months, and I will take your comments to heart.

      Thank you for your feedback.

  5. hello I was wondering I’m staying in the hotel right now we’re do the finance problems my husband is losing his job and we do need help with food and I don’t know what I need to do to be able to get help if you could contact me somehow I appreciate it thank you

    1. CoRena,

Come by FISH and we’ll get you fixed up. Our hours information is on this website – but today we are open until 5. You will need something with a Kittitas County address on it, though if you are homeless we just ask that you declare that to us. We have other information that may help too.
