FISH Cares for Kids
Because FISH Cares for Kids, we are joining the Ellensburg School District in assuring each child ages 18 and younger will not be hungry during this emergency school closure.
During the closure, each child will receive one bag every day that contains two nutritious and tasty meals—lunch for that day and breakfast for the next.
Beginning Monday, March 16, service will be at Morgan Middle School between 11:30am and 1:00pm.
The bus loading zone at Morgan will be a “drive up” zone for food pick up. Walk ups are also welcome. School staff and volunteers will be there to direct the traffic and give out the meals. Please enter on First Avenue from Ruby Street.
There will be NO meal service during spring break to allow FISH and the School District to plan for expanded meal service sites beginning the week after the break. Families are encouraged to use FISH Food Pantry to get food to help through the break. There will be “kid friendly” foods available. Please watch FISH’s website Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/kvfoodbank/ and the School District website for information about expanded Pantry Hours.
Kids who receive Weekend Nutrition will be able to pick up on Friday, March 20 at Morgan during regular meal distribution hours.
Call FISH at 509-925-5990 for questions about FISH Cares or the Food Pantry.
More information will follow as plans are defined. Please like the FISH Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/kvfoodbank/ for the latest news. Things are unfolding at lightning speed so please be patient as we navigate this entirely new situation. We are going to help and we are all in this together. It’s together that we will get to the other side of this emergency safe and fed.
