  • One-third of all individuals FISH serves are children under the age of 18.
  • More than one-third of individuals are seniors over the age of 55.
  • One-third of individuals come from places within Kittitas county but outside Ellensburg.  
  • Almost half of individuals that FISH serves have a disability.  

About FISH’s pantry:

  • This fiscal year, FISH has given an average of 75 pounds of food to each family that needs it.  Each family can come twice a month.
  • The pantry is open a total of 11 and a half hours each week for distribution of food. 
  • The warehouse has 46 shifts a week, all filled by volunteers.
  • There are 30 groceries guides helping clients pick out their food each week.

  • FISH stands for Friends in Service to Humanity
  • FISH opened in 1971.  That’s 46 years!
  • Originally FISH helped people with rides, housekeeping, babysitting, utilities, visits and more!
  • FISH became exclusively a food bank in 1979.
